In the fall of 2021, The Flossy Organization successfully led a community campaign to prevent the installation of a pesticide storage facility in a working-class community of color. In July 2024, The Flossy Organization achieved a significant victory by securing $1.6 million for a Cure Violence site in Canarsie, marking a pivotal shift from punitive measures to a focus on the root causes of gun violence. The organization championed a community-centric approach that garnered widespread support. This funding will empower front-line workers to engage directly with the community, provide mentorship & job opportunities, creating a safer environment through understanding and intervention. The success of this initiative is a testament to the power of coalition-building with survivors, tenant associations, and faith leaders, all united in their commitment to transformative public safety measures.

The Flossy Organization's Advocacy Academy has successfully trained over 350 participants, empowering them with the skills needed to effect change within their communities.
